USA made ones are (were) awesome guitars. Too bad most were out of my price range and couldn't afford them at the time. Sad to see them go, they were consistently good brand.

Very bad news indeed.

The good news: the recession is now forecast to end around 2017.

That's just what they're admitting to for now. I once lusted after a Hammer electro mandolin guitar, although I never did manage to find the cash to actually buy it. What a joyous little bundle of wood, frets, tuners and electronics that was! It used regular guitar tuning so it wasn't actually a mandolin. Just sounded a bit like one. Imagine a 12 string that stated at the 12th fret... and it played beautifully.
