Bass for keyboardist
      #784202 - 03/11/09 02:58 AM

I'm thinking about getting my first ever bass guitar. I'm a keyboardist, ... so are the SX bass guitars good enough?

Here's the link

which one is good for a beginner?

They're surprisingly decent. In fact they're a bit of a hit with many experienced players over at basschat.co.uk.
See if you can put £20 aside for a proper basic set-up (string height / neck relief / intonation) from your local guitar shop after you've bought it. It'll make all the difference and you should end up with a very usable instrument.

i bought myself a Yamaha RBX-374 a few years ago second hand for £170 and I'm pretty pleased with it, as someone who plays keys but can't play a guitar (the old "my fingers are too fat" excuse). it's active so has a range of sounds, feels nice etc.

I don't know much about basses, and it might be out of your price range, but if you see one second hand it's worth checking out...

so, how does this make you feel?
