Replacement Bridge / Saddles for Pacifica
      #784334 - 03/11/09 03:12 PM

Hi all,

Im looking to upgrade the hardware on my yamaha pacifica, though I'm not fully aware of the options available to me. The pacifica was bought for the purpose of housing a set of EMG Steve Lukather pick-ups. I had previously has these in a lite ash strat but it sounded too bright. So I went looking for a relatively cheap guitar with body woods matching the of Steve's signature 'Luke' guitar. Cue, the pacifica.

Im now looking into upgrading the guitars bridge, which has left me completely confused as too what is possible. It currently has a vintage style trem, which has been blocked off for ease of tuning stability. I would however, like to gain use of a trem on this guitar again. Discarding thoughts of installing a floyd rose, I am left with either;

1) Install a 2 point floating trem (is this possible?)
2) Install an upgraded vintage trem (can this float?)
3) Replace the saddles with ones of a higher quality material and leave the trem blocked

And then to confuse matters more there seem to be so many options of saddle and screw width.

Any thoughts or opinions are welcome

Thanks,

Chris
