Hello. Please, help me to make a true choise Between two keyboards Novation sl mk 2 61
and M-audio axiom pro 61.
I have some questions:
(I heard that
Novation have some noise of keys, is it true? Is noise loud?
(Has novation split
mode(zones)?)
(Could this keyboard change Velocity)?
(What midi controller
give you better feellings of keys?)
(And what about quality, what keyboards will no
broke with carefully using and what have more ofen brokes?)
Please, who
played on both keyboards write, what is better? Maby you know some advantages, or
disadvantages of any of this keyboard. So i need any help...

Do you have a music shop nearby which might carry the keyboards? I spent some time (not
much, the choice was easy for me) at a Guitar Center playing Akai MPK, Axiom Pro and SL
MkII before buying the SL MkII. I absolutely love the feel of the keys on the SL MkII.
Automap works well enough for me in Ableton Live.
I'm not sure how key noise
could be much of an issue since it's not an acoustic instrument. If you're worried about
staying quiet at night for a roommate or something, the keys make less noise than a
typical computer keyboard.
I did have a hardware issue with the touch sensitive
feature of the rotaries and faders on the SL MkII, but GC exchanged it for a new one
without any hassle. The new one has been rock solid.

A couple of years ago, Max (I miss Max ...) had both an Axiom and a SL to test for a
client. Both he and I may have a slight bias towards Novation due to links with Focusrite,
but it was obvious that the Novation was just a better bit of kit. The keys felt good to
play, the layout was just a little nicer (loved the lockable joystick) and Automap seemed
to be better to use than the M-Audio equivalant. In short, it felt more like a keyboard
player's unit. At the time, I was actually considering an Axiom (loved the styling) but
realised that the SL was more of a fit for me. I should really have got one ..

I have a RemoteSL-36. It's festooned with knobs and sliders, which I never use, because,
like all old-school knobs and sliders, they're inevitably in the "wrong place" as soon as
you recall anything.
The only controls I really use are the rotary encoders
(because they're never in the wrong place).
So recently got a Nocturn-25
keyboard, which *only* has the rotary encoders, and omits the rest of the distracting
junk. This is looking quite nice. Sadly (although newer than the SL series), the Nocturn
keyboards seem to be discontinued. I went to Bay of E.
