HK Audio Projector
      #987044 - 12/05/12 02:37 PM
Hi all,

Does anyone have any experience with the HK Audio Projector system? I'm thinking of investing in it as it looks like a well rounded package that I could grow with, and that will last me a long time.

I'm finding my local dealer this week to have a listen, but would also like to hear what you guys think

Thanks!

No experience with the Projector but I used the Actor system for a couple of years and was very pleased with the sound quality and efficiency of the system.

We played some venues with up to 1500 capacity and the system filled the room very impressively.

AFAIR the projector system is designed for larger venues and outdoor gigs with it's longer throw drivers so if you're playing in smaller rooms you may not get the full benefit of it's sound quality.

I'm a freelance sound engineer in Manchester UK and regularly use a projector rig for live gigs from 100 capacity indoor venues to small 500 capacity outdoor gigs. It's a decent sound system, overkill for the smaller indoor gigs and just big enough for the larger outdoor events (though you'd probably want more power for metal bands or suchlike outdoors). nice overall sound and reliability has been good (just one repairable amp failure in 5 years). The company also have JBL (PRX512/718's) and the HK Projector represents a good next step up from those.

Turn it down lads (but only a little bit)
