iTunes pain in the neck

OK I want to by a subscription to SOS for my iPad because I finally found a use for
it (i.e. to read SOS without being on the net) and guess what - I can't.
Why
not? because even though my bank knows I'm living in Thailand, and my Thai address is
registered with the Bank, and I even get my statements in Thailand, iTunes does not like
the fact that I have a UK Visa card and a Chonburi address.
So it refuses to
accept my payment.
So much for finally finding a use for this piece of iTrash.
In the freaking bin it goes and good riddance.

Normally I live in Newcastle, and you'd have been welcome to it, but now it's not so
close. I'd give it to some local here but I can't bring myself to be so evil.

It worked fine for me whilst I was in China for 7 years... but we deliberately kept our
credit cards under a UK address as we found out they (the banks) really don't like it if
you leave the country. We were told you are technically not allowed to hold a UK credit
card as an expat. So you might find it affects more than just iTunes purchases, I also
found using paypal from abroad extremely problematic because they log the location of your
IP address.

Agree on the PayPal thing - had to abandon it. My Bank (Barclays) is happy to have
my Debit card (never asked about my credit card) address in Thailand. Been here 2 years
and no problems at all with my card, I use it a lot. However no joy with app store. But it
is fair to say that I have encountered so many problems with iTunes that it is permanently
removed from all 4 Mac computers in our house, and both our iPads are completely
redundant.
I had the happy idea of using one of them as my pocket SOS
repository, but of course that didn't work.
Our Samsungs on the other hand are
nearly worn out with constant use.

Have you taken the iPad to the Apple store?
I've never had any problem
with wifi being greyed out on my ipad2!
(Written on iPad 2 and transmitted
over wifi!)
P.s. Samsung leaving Apple behind, good one!
