Can any one recommend a freeware or cheap software package to slow-down and loop music
files for learning and practice. I have used Amazing Slow Downer which I quite liked but
I'm reeling a bit at the $49 ticket price. I have an eval copy of Mtrax which is rather
more functional but does a lot of clever stuff that I don't need. My old copy of
Transkriber doesn't load under 64 Bit W7.
Cheers

What DAW do you use? Most DAWs can do this kind of thing now.
But I also
believe you can do this in Windows Media Player these days, though it's not something I've
tried.

Hi Elf
I use C5 and yes it does all of this stuff, I just don't really want to
be in DAW mode when I should be in MUSIC mode.
It'll do as a stopgap though.
Good one.

Winamp does it as well. May require a plugin downloading (i'm not sure off hand) but it
does do it.

Thanks folks.
Best Practice looks OK - I'll see how I get on with it.
Roni who make the Amasing Slow Downer did produce plugins for Winamp, but they work only
up to V2 (I think I'm running V5) so no go there unfortunately.
