Primacoustic Crashguard, any good?
      #995749 - 02/07/12 12:49 PM
Hi, I've been looking at the primacoustic crashguard (http://www.primacoustic.com/crashguard.htm), and can pick it up for about 30 quid, but I can't seem to find much opinion on it. Anyone used it? Or similar?

The only problem I can see is placing it correctly in a tight set-up, but I can't see why it wouldn't work, and I do have problem with hi-hat bleed a lot.

Thanks a lot

Jonny

I have a bit of eggshell foam which came out of some long-dead packaging. If hi-hat bleed seems to be a problem, I'll tape this onto the snare rim. It seems to do the job, and it didn't cost me thirty quid either.

Hi Jonny,

I didn't try the Crashguard, but I did used home made stuff like this:

Alternatively if you don't mind the way your set-up looks like, you can try Styrofoam cup with a hole cut in the bottom and a little bit of tape... However if you have £30 lying around then get that Primacoustic thing I'm sure it will work just fine and definitely it will look good!
