We're very new to this and looking for a little advice please.
singer songwriter, with small local live gigs singing covers and own songs. Putting
together a 5 song EP to sell at gigs with own songs, but also very keen to make it and
subsequent songs available to download.
We've researched music aggregators
for the UK, and have become a bit bogged down. We initially thought that AWAL would be
suitable, they take 15% of sales and would get the songs on ITunes etc. However, looking
at older posts it explained that in the long run a one off fee could work out better. As
I understand it, although AWAL would only be a one month rolling contract if we chose to
switch from them to another aggregator, say in a couple of years, we would lose any
history built up on the websites i.e ITunes Genius, so would be like starting over
Would anyone please have any recommendations or help? Would
definitely like Spotify and ITunes to be on their distribution list!
