I've had an album released in America through a licensing deal. Would it be worth joining
the BMI? (I tried to join ASCAP but couldn't for some reason). Or am I OK with just the
PRS? Plus, do the PRS ask ASCAP to collect royalties from America?

I recently attended a BMI pitch at the BelNash Songwriting festival in Belfast.. The
general gist of what the guy was saying was..'Join'!
And the very fact that they'd
gone to the trouble of sending their main man to the festival indicates that they take
NI/IRELAND/UK very seriously!
Adele is doing quite nicely through them.. So why
shouldn't you? I bet Adele has a PRS account too!
All the best with your
album!!

LMAO -
or it might mean that one of Stormont's endless ludicrous quangos had formed a
cross-sectoral lead body to engage with relevant stakeholders and offer LAVISH JUNKETS to
persons such as BMI reps, who can stay in the Europa and get free sports massages and a
complementary trip to the Botanic Gardens Tropical Ravine etc etc. All paid for with our
taxes. Was Shep's answering machine there too?
