KRK RP8s?
      #1004995 - 23/08/12 10:18 AM
Hi,

I am trying to set up a home studio in a small office(bedroom size) and I bought the KRK RP8s as I found the sound better then RP6 when tested in the shop but I am thinking maybe they are too big and too loud for the room. I hope I won't regret it!!! any help with this? I can always exchange them to something else if within 30 days!!!

Many thanks!

Am

They are only as loud as you monitor on them!

If you can get some sort of treatment in the room it should improve their response.

Perhaps the low end is exciting some room nodes. If you can do with a bit less bass than the '8s but you like KRKs perhaps you could try a smaller VXT6 or 4?

Hi-you may get many more comments in the Production forum.

Set up a bunch of sine waves corresponding to either notes (middle c and downward) or some other division of the octave to 20 Hz and play them back. This will give you lots of information about what's happening in your room. Somewhere on the SOS site are files with stepped LF pitches that HR and/or PW made available for that purpose.
