Logic offline bounce slower than real time

Using the latest Logic and OS. Using a 2.4 ghz iMac.

Only 2 tracks. One of an Ivory piano, and one audio with simple vocal cues ("Verse-2-3-4").

No FX.

My offline bounce is waayyyy slower than real time.

Strange?

So what's causing it? Turn off the piano track - does it speed up then?

What disk are you bouncing too? How much ram do you have? Does the track play ok in realtime?

I get this sometimes too, in Cubase on PC. Slow export of a simple track, for no apparent reason.

Desmond, sorry for the delay. Been on the road. I just followed your suggestions. Today, it seems to be offline bouncing at a good rate... weird thing is this time I'm using 2 instances of Ivory...previously only one...and it's fine today.

This has happened many times before though.

For the record, Logic lives on my internal drive. I have 4 gig of ram. I've partitioned an external drive. Ivory lives on one partition, my logic projects, along with assets are on the other partition.
