IPad stand for live use
      #1019125 - 18/11/12 11:35 AM
For those of you who use an iPad live, what stand do you use? I am toying with using mine live to provide me with set notes etc....but I need to find something I can attach to a keyboard stand. There must be something on the market that clamps to the horizontal bit of a keyboard stand.

Just as I though... An absolute minefield.

A mic stand one would seem to be the most practical

I'd be very interested to hear from anyone who is using something like this.

My mate has one of those. Works like a charm.

Got the K&M stand camp (The one with the extra bit that lets you clamp it to the stand as well as attach it to a mic tread.) Highly recommended.

As always, with K&M gear it is built like a tank, and really holds the iPad firmly... I have read that other, cheaper solutions don't. Personally I preferred to spend a few quid more and not have several hundred quids worth of iPad drop onto the stage.

Hi,

I've got the Thomann own-brand, generic tablet holder as I've got a somewhat chunky sleeve on my iPad. It clamps to the upright of the mic stand and construction is plenty solid enough not to cause me concern. (I'm more worried about dropping the iPad doing something stupid like carrying it out to the car.. hence the chunky sleeve). It's not as streamlined as other, "naked iPad"-specific holders, but that's understandable.

Regards,

- Paul
