Leopard and Lion on Separate drives on a Mac Pro

Hi. is it possible to have two drives, one with Leopard and the other with Lion on Mac Pro
and be able to switch between the two? The reason I need to do this is that Im upgrading
cubase 4 to 7,but still need to be able to use cusebase 4 for some older projects.

As Chris says, yes it is. Using disk utility you just wipe and install each OS
on each HD, you then normally hold 'alt' on startup and it simply lets you choose the OS
boot. You might be better off partitioning one of the HD's, doing a similar
dual boot process and using the other HD for storage etc. - things like audio files or
sample libraries if you use them. This method can help improve performance although with a
lot of current comps and HDs the difference may negligible. There's loads of
info via google on 'setting up dual boot systems'.

I do this with Leopard (Cubase4) and Snow Leopard (Logic). I just have to remember to hold
the Alt (*) key down when it's booting and you get to select which drive to boot from. (*) or the apple key ... I can never remember which it is an sometimes it takes
couple of goes. But I'm getting old and flaky

For what it's worth:
It's not
the apple key aka "CMD" (which no longer has an apple on it, but does have the clover leaf
thing).
It is indeed the "ALT" key, which back in the day was called
"Option". So I used to remember: I want an option of what drive to boot from.

Better still, I use rEFit which allows you to select which disk you want to boot from
without any of that option key stuff. Find it here.... refit

Pretty sure you can open C4 projects in C7 too, just not the other way around.
