Any good VSTs for "midi insert" that can convert keyboard chords into guitar chords?
      #1009288 - 20/09/12 01:32 PM
e.g. when I just play C, E, G, in keyboard, then it would convert to 6 strings guitar chord keys for me, etc....

are there any such VSTs that can be loaded inside "midi insert"?

not sure exactly what you want to do here - is it play a keyboard to create guitar tracks (via a vst like RealGuitar) or to convert keyboard parts into TAB/chord shapes?

ya, seems like realguitar, but just a midi effecter VST (midi in and midi out, not audio out) which only can be loaded inside the "midi insert" slot of the midi track inside Cubase/Nuendo.
e.g. when I just play G, B, D 3 keys only by my keyboard with my 3 fingers only, these 3 keys go into the VST and the VST will detect out the G chord and send exactly the 6 chord notes (G1, B1, D2, G2, B2, G3) of 6 guitar strings to the instrument VST automatically.

You may already have it if this is what you're looking for!

Unfortunately the link to the xml file appears broken, but I'm sure someone could re-post it.

aaahhh, but this one can never detect any free chords like realguitar like 7, maj7, 9, 11, 13, m9, m7, sus4, sus2. dim, -5, +5, 6, +9, -9, etc........

But it detect chords oftenly failed, and it's not loaded inside the slot called "midi insert" of a midi track in Cubase.
What i mean for the "midi insert" is this:

And it's better coming with simple strumming and picking functions.

I must be missing somethign quite fundemental here, but surely a chord is a chord is a chord. For example the Cmajor, CEG is the same whether on a piano or guitar, or do you mean chord generator, eg you play a Cmajor and thereafter get the insert to generate variations of the C chord, Cmin, C7, Cmin7 etc etc, or do you want the insert to 'strum' in other words an arpeggio, a chord rather than play all the notes simultaneously?

a chord, yes, chord detection like realguitar, but just midi in and midi out, in midi insert slots, e.g. midi notes in track -> midi insert chord detection -> Kontakt 5 or anything else -> bus of the cubase mixer -> output

chord detection like realguitar, but just midi in and midi out

For reference, RealGuitar apparently provides MIDI out, so I guess you could use that. I doubt there's anything else very similar.

It doesn't work like that, but you should be able to record its MIDI output, or point it at Kontakt, if that's the plan. The method depends on the DAW, as explained in the link.
