I want it now!!!! Why does it take so long to download???? (I've
clearly learned nothing from the Sonar X1 initial release debacle)

How does it compare to X1? Is it as stable as X1 is now, or as unstable as X1
was at it's launch?

Very stable for such a major release.
I've not encountered any show stoppers
yet.

I've got it now. Yes, it's a good update on X1 - Not sure as it's THAT different, to
justify the upgrade, but all seems well so far.

X2 has take lanes (as opposed to layers). Worth it just for this! On the
downside, my frontier alphatrack (sold) was not happy with x2, whereas i had no problems
in x1. I have bought a contour designs shuttle prov2 to replace the alphtrack, it
seems really good so far. You need transport controls with sonar i feel, impossible
to work with without.I have also bought a small Korg nano control, but have not set it up
yet. I hope to use the faders for writing automation.

X2 is tons better than X1. After using this software since the midi days of Cakewalk 2, I
thought X1 was something of a great idea disasterously implemented, their worst ever
release. They've learned their lesson and X2 gets it right.

As long as they haven't changed some of the keyboard shortcuts again - slowed me down for
weeks As ever, think I'll hold off till the dust settles.

Oddly enough, they've changed Grid on/off back to "N".
Yay!
Other than that, it's robust.
