April the 1st already is it?
I didn't stop laughing until I got to:
Quote:
Silent
System Upgrade
If you want a deadly quiet system we have the perfect upgrade
for you! We replace all washers with a viscoelastic polymer for isolating the system from
vibration. The entire is then dampened with a multi-layer constrained material to
eliminate chassis resonance. We then add another layer of shielding materials to further
reduce noise. Combined with our advanced cooling the result is a system that is dead quiet
in all facets of the term.
At which point I choked on my lunch.
Seriously if your going to take
the piss to that extent, at least have the decency to include all the options.

Stop press! It's a misprint. The comma is supposed to be a decimal point. So... I'll have two in case one breaks down

Yes it might be expensive but from the looks of it you do get a nice cabinet to put it in
(my grans technics came with the same sort of thing though cost a lot less!!) Also
they claim it has the power of a 1000 core cpu Yeah Right!
Also the use of
powercon connectors for DC seems a bit dodgy to me.
Also they make a lot of
noise about using a special linear ATX Supply as they claim it's better yet sell/make
digital amplifiers which are switch mode devices.

The cabinet is probably only needed to hold the phase change cooling... which unless you
happen to be trying to break an overclocking record or two is absolutely pointless. I had a quick look at their Linear PSU page. $2000 for one acturly seems good
value almost seeing what else is on the market that does the same job but then for a dual
Xeon rig you may even need a couple of those so that'll be bumping the price up. (still can't work out why a dual Xeon would be prefered over a low power i3) I suppose if you can afford one of these you can afford to build and isolate a whole
listening from the electrics upwards to take advantage of the improvements to the signal
flow. So on the balance I suppose if you were spending a half million on your next
listening space it might be worth it... The rest of us could probably get
97%ish of the way there for a few grand, or 90%ish of the way there for a few hundred.

Hmmm... I now want to find a band that can handle Aphex Twin covers.
