sound card installation bringing tears to my eyes
      #991716 - 07/06/12 01:19 AM

Using winxp pro ,sp 3
the card in question is a marion marc 2

keeps crashing on last bit of file installation to c win 32 folder leading to blue screen and driver conflict , tried in safe mode , and get prompted to restart the computer for hardware changes to take effect , out of safe mode then back to normal start up device not working and not listed under @ sound playback , sound options , its listed in devices but driver not present .

Ill elaborate on this soon , rest not as big brainstorming session just done on booting bios rom via usb

I've had Marian driver woes myself. I was going to suggest the obvious try-downloading-the-latest-driver, but I can't see the driver for this card listed on their website, and they're not good at keeping them up to date.

...so I just thought I'd point out that there's a handful of Audiophile 2496s on eBay for £25 from this seller. Just bought one myself and very happy with it.

(Looks like that Marian ought to work, but I'm not sure what to suggest, and personally I have limited patience for these kinds of problems these days.)

Got it going after 4 hours of clicks and a trial and error aproach, glad though
Symphony no 9 never sounded so good

Sorry to get all these topic views over some guy looking for that magic bullet audio fix

And on the 4th day of the fresh re-install he said let there be sound
