I have been meaning to post here for a while but simply never got round to it. Perhaps a word of introduction. I am one of the third party developers for the very exciting Acustica Audio Nebula platform.

I have been busy since April sampling all sorts of gear to assist you in improving the 'in the box' mixing expereience. From preamps, to Mojo presets ( the tone of compressors and EQs ), microphones, bus settings, Amps and other things in an ever growing invetory, all going for competitive prices.

I use Prismsound Orpheus for sampling and I sample at 24 bit 192 khz. This makes for a very airy, fatigue free translation of your audio. It also makes for a very good impulse response so transients sound good.
At the moment my products have support for 192 khz, 96 khz and 44.1 khz. The earlier products had only 96 khz or 192 khz and I am retrospectively updating all libraries to support all the three sample rates. I will also be rolling out updates for the existing libraries to add the G-drive feature which allows one to find the sweet spot of the samplings easily. It is something users can do on their own but I will be doing this as a service.

The Bricasti M7 is a sampling that is on its way 'hopefully' beginning this month. I am doing it in conjunction with the excellent Michael angel of www.CDsoundmaster.com so that is the exciting news.

The big news is that the latest stuff from February has the G-drive added. This may not occur to you now but this is a big deal. The G-drive just about is the best free upgrade for the libraries that you will get that will give you so much more flexibility in getting into the sweet spot of the hardware sampling. I have been amazed at how much you miss without it.
I will be adding the G-drive over time as I work through my previous samplings. I have changed my mind and will not be renaming them with a _G suffix so these will replace your old files. If this bothers you and you want backward compatibility, you can always rename the new ones but once you hear the difference you may want to remix everything because it is just so much better.
Please delete the recent G-drive updates. Now a word of warning - some work better with it and some give audible artifacts. You don't have to use it but it can add what you have been missing. I am starting from scratch today.

Where's the Bricasti M7?

It has caused a few headaches to be fair. If I didn't care about trying to give the best I can it would have been out by now. There is a net loss of the original sound that I need to make up for or discover where it goes awry. I am getting results that can be used but they are too different. May as well use the impulse responses available if there is no benefit from Nebula right? My results are not bad but just not quite there yet.
You can follow the thread here. I hope it will be soon as I had hoped to crack it by Christmas but it is still about 80 % of the sound. I would like about 90%. I have tried many many different techniques and spent countless hours. There is a reason the hardware costs what it does.

Call this a kind of an experiment to see how I could get the previous Amp sampling to sound better. I think I did in a way. It was a bit bright so I warmed it up with my hardware.

My recent Amp samplings in London are not going to be released in full as I am planning on serving the high end with them. In other words for those discerning guitarists and mixers who want to get a bit more depth in the box and are willing to pay for the custom deluxe edition. I will release scaled down versions of the amps in the shop however but they will be really scaled back with no post processing and in one sample rate.

Having said all that - here is my first community edition package done with no corners cut. This is the same quality that I release my commercial libraries in so take it for a spin.
It is of a small 4 Watt Vox. Details on the page. Not perfect in every way and it won't work on everything but I hope it comes in useful for you guys who work in the genre where Amps come into play.

Shove a distortion plugin before it and then perhaps some post eq to taste.

It should work with Nebula Free but let me know if any issues arise. I am offering no support for this if you have download issues , I won't be able to help. Spread it far and wide if you like though and I don't care if it is hosted all over the place.
