Soundcraft Ghost - 8 Channel version?
      #1000916 - 31/07/12 03:50 PM
I used to have a Soundcraft Ghost 24, and did see the MIDI 32Chn version..

Was there ever an 8 chn smaller footprint version or equivalent from Soundcraft?

At the time, the Mackie 8-buss was similar and Mackie, did small 1202, 1402, 1604, etc right up to the 32Chn desks..
It seems as if Soundcraft never did this with the Ghost?

I used to love the Mix output inserts for adding a stereo compressor, and the Parametric EQ, but would love a smaller 12chn or 8 chn version - was this ever released? or was the "Ghost" released in this smaller form factor, but under a different model number?

There were 8- and 12-channel Spirits, but I've never seen an 8-channel Ghost...

You might want to look for an older Series 200/B or 400? They came in smaller formats, and I'm pretty sure they had insert points on the main mix (though not necessarily on the buses).

Cheers!

Chris

Inserts on the main mix was nice, but also the Ghost Parametric EQ was great - was this used exactly the same but in a smaller desk?

Hrm, doubt it... Every small Soundcraft I've seen has only semi-parametric EQs (with no bandwidth control), and most are only three-band (high & low shelving plus swept mid).

Cheers!

Chris
