Robin Adams - Pushed and Pulled E.P.
      #1025590 - 22/12/12 01:36 PM
Hey all

Another kitchen/bedroom recording :-)

http://robinadams.bandcamp.com/album/pushed-and-pulled-e-p

We put it up on Bandcamp as a "pay what you want". Pretty happy with the mixes considering the gear/recording/mixing spaces, but might need a few tweaks for the radio promos we'll put out in early January. As ever any comments most welcome - there were some really useful ones for the last release (thanks chaps!), which were relevant for this one too.

Its acoustic driven, and if you like Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Nick Drake, Bonnie Price Billy, thats the kinda ballpark musically and (hopefully) sonically. There's a stripped back version of "Losing You" which went out a few months and three other songs - Song For You is my favourite, very intimate and after a few listens a bit of melodic earworm, but in a nice way!

Seasons greetings to y'all!

Can I just say that Robin's stuff is simply gorgeous, and it'd be daft to miss out on this.

I have to admit to an interest of sorts - I've already bought hard copies of two of his LPs!

Also, check out some genius weirdo called Piet Haag who may or may not be connected with Robin!

Thanks Phil!

We're hoping to get out two full albums, possibly three, in 2013, so stay tuned!

I'm pleased with the way the recordings are turning out - its a really simple setup, just mics, decent pres, and a handful of Logic's built in and UAD plugs, along with a RME Multiface. A barebones setup but it seems to help reinforce the nature of Robin's performances - honest and direct.

Back to the radio promos.

Festive greetings from sunny Scotland!
