Prism Lyra incoming...
      #1039865 - 26/03/13 09:26 AM
I spoke with the guys over at Prism last week, and apparently the first batch of Lyra interfaces should be with distributors after the Easter weekend.

I'm looking forward to getting my hands on a Lyra 2. Anyone else taking the plunge?

Well this is a hot topic...

For anyone who cares, I spoke with Prism again last week and there have been some delays in getting Lyra units into stock. They had a small production problem that pushed them back a few days, but this has now been resolved, so they're retesting and expect to release shipments in the next week or so.

It is basically an updated but cut-down Orpheus -- same conversion and audio quality, slightly improved analogue facilities, variations on the digital I/O, the future-proof AVB option on the Lyra2, and USB connectivity instead of Firewire.

For those that only require a small I/O count, the Lyra represents something close to the ultimate converter/interface package... but although it's a lot less expensive than the Orpheus, it still is expensive!
