Processing Returns
      #989599 - 25/05/12 03:33 PM
Hi guys,

Sorry if this seems like a really newbie Q, but I'd just like to make sure.

Having set up a send by adding an FX or group channel [ cubase ] to compress a track. In order to further EQ the signal [ on its return ], I've put this plugin into the original track's audio channel setting insert slot.

It seems to be processing the signal OK, but Is this the right way to do it?

Please advise.

Cheers.
Keith

You can put an EQ after the effect or before, depending on what effect you wish to achieve. In Cubase you will do this on the FX channel. It sounds like you are just EQing the track you want to effect rather than the FX channel based on your description.

What are yo trying to achieve; just compressing and EQing the track or parallel processing of the rack?

Thanks Richie,

From the reading I've done, I'm sure we're talking parallel processing.
Are you saying in this case the EQ plugin be placed in the insert slot of the FX channel in order to process the already compressed signal?
P.S. Does parallel processing also involve duplicating the track?

Cheers.
