MIDI Issue In Kontakt 4 ???
      #992666 - 13/06/12 02:14 PM
Hi

I recently purchased Galaxy ll and Vintage D Piano Libraries from BS. I've installed both Libraries on an internal 7200 RPM Drive and all is well, except I'm having an issue with the MIDI set up, which in Kontakt 4 looks "complicated"

How do i get my Yamaha P155 Digital Piano to work as the MIDI device to play the G2 Pianos ? I've already set up a Yamaha UX16 MIDI interface cable going from MIDI out of the DP to MIDI in of the Mac, but it still won't play.

what settings do i need to configure in KP4 to set up the correct MIDI channel ?

So you're running Kontakt standalone...? Have you sorted out the Mac's general Audio MIDI setup...?

(Once you've done that, I guess you'll need to go into File...Audio/MIDI setup within Kontakt. I'm not familiar with Kontakt on a Mac though.)

I've set up Kontakt to receive on Port A and the P155 MIDI set up is also set to MIDI channel 1.

But in the Macs Audio and MIDI set up the Yamaha P155 or the UX16 MIDI cable doesn't show anywhere.

Should either one of these show up in the Mac Audio and MIDI set up ?

The MIDI interface should. If it doesn't, you probably don't have Mac drivers, or it's not Mac compatible or something.

If the MIDI interface does not show up, it doesn't exist, therefore no MIDI will get sent to anything in the computer. That's your problem...

UPDATED DRIVERS!!! that was the issue, i thought the Drivers on the UX16 installation disc was the one to install, "how silly of me" a lesson learnt.

Thanks for all your support.

Mm.
