Possibly should start a new thread with this, but why don't people make tracks downloadable?

MySpace is so sh1te at streaming that I virtually never get to hear any bands that stream their stuff (especially in the afternoon when the Yanks get up), whereas downloading normally works. In fact, if I don't see the download link available, and I feel I might not like the music, I don't bother - the band has just lost the opportunity to persuade me.

Are bands really that paranoid about making stuff downloadable? Honestly if I thought people liked my stuff enough to download and keep on their ipods I would do everything I could to assist that!

So: NO to streaming only: YEY to downloadable.

go on - just make the one track downloadable, even if you inisist on streaming the rest (for your own paranoid reasons....!)

That track f*** the pain away. Hope youve got that on vinyl hawking it round the clubs. The vocal is a bit too quiet though imho. It would be good if there were some stings in there too, to keep the interest, nothing too much, just a few mindbenders. Great track that. BTW i dont have a clue about dance, don't listen to it. But i thought that one was great and has real appeal.

I had it played on someone's Radio show and they threatened to play it out at their club live, to which I said "please do!"

Never found if they did though.

I kinda agree about the vocals now too, maybe I'll upload a newer version of it sometime in the near future.

I've now listened to about a 5th of the myspace links in this thread and I am really impressed! There's such variety, which is good, but also a lot of talent and original ideas.

Some great production, some downright funny [ ****** ], some simple but professional sounding catchy bands, some quite nice electronica.

I'm enjoying this!

Hope you don't mind if I add a load of you to my myspace friends list...

Mine are :

Junior Blanks - band I was part of for many years, but never released an album. You can download two albums worth of stuff for free from the main blanks site.

Kicks & Rock - me and the singer from Junior Blanks made some frankly very silly bouncy dance tunes a few years back, which were released as a vinyl EP on West earlier this year. There's a newer, unreleased track up there too.

What I do have trouble with is downloads, where Myspace seems to go with 1-word titles, so I have several 'The's and 'I's! This isn't helped if people don't bother to put in song info when they encode the MP3...
