Where best to buy MDF in Hampshire UK? new
      #1001110 - 01/08/12 11:42 AM
Hi guys

I'm looking to buy a small amount of 3/4" MDF to make an isolation cabinet. I would prefer to get it cut to size rather than have to do it myself.

Any ideas of the best/cheapest place to buy in the Hampshire area? I live near Basingstoke if that helps?

Cheers for any help you can give me,

Kizzer

Unlikely to be the cheapest, but we've had MDF cut to size in Eastleigh B&Q for a very similar size box. They'll do a certain number of cuts for free. I understand that dust from MDF can be hazardous so getting someone else to cut it is a good idea.

Cheers James.

I've got a B&Q near as well as a few others, so I guess i'll give them a go.

Most wood merchants will cut it free of charge

My wife was in Alresford Builder's Merchants yesterday and it looks like they do it as well - not sure which side of Basingstoke you are on but could be useful if you are to the south.
