Sibelius 7 - time signature font problem... new
      #1003499 - 14/08/12 12:53 PM
hi there Sibelius users..

is there any way to make the time signature numbers not partially appear one on top of the other? At the moment the top number of my time-signature is overlapping the bottom number by about a third of it's height…it's readable…but annoying! I've fooled around in Engraving Rules (changed the fonts..and the sizes)…even found the 'Time Signature (special)'..which i think just adds an extra time signature to the score.

Anyone know how to change the overlapping time signatures to normal ones which are more readable?

many many thanks!! (i'm using Sibelius 7.1.2 and OS X 10.6.8)

Peter

I have never encountered this myself, but there is an option in Engraving Rules to switch to a larger font (Large or Huge) specifically for time signatures. You might accidentally have chosen this option, in which case you also need to adjust the line spacing from the default 25% to 100%. Check page 314 in the reference manual for details.

The place for this question is the Sibelius tech support forum

http://www.sibelius.com/cgi-bin/helpcenter/chat/chat.pl?groupid=3

wgere you can attach your sib file and someone will quickly tell you what is wrong and how to mend it.

It does seem that you've been messing with font sizes without also adjusting spacing. You can import one of the standard House Styles to clear the decks. As mentioned, the Time Signatures (huge) text style, which is designed to extend beyond the staff lines, may be a better solution. But let's see the score, over at the tech support forum.
