recording direct from mixer to mobile phone

l have recorded gigs on to mini disk recorder direct from the headphone outs of my mixer. the mini disk has died and I wondered whether there's a way of using my Samsung galaxy s3 mobile phone in a similar way. I assume that I will need a usb interface but I have no idea whether the phone will record in stereo or what might work
any thoughts?
