Hi I have studied hypnosis and now want to sell downloads of my hypnosis recordings.
Can I sell my recordings the same way as music is sold on I tunes or is there a different process for spoken word recordings?

I am slightly amused at a hypnotist asking how to sell their product.

Now that's out of the way we can return to giving healthy advice. As it turns out, having read the odd forum post or two, I suspect we may not be the best crowd to ask about selling anything.

Hypnosis for what?

I ask this, because hypnosis CDs are sold according to branch, e.g. hypnosis to give up smoking, or drinking or whatever takes your fancy. Then you target that market, either on-line or at fairs and other POS.

We did a hypnosis for childbirth last year and it is selling in bucket loads. Now every time I hear someone count down from ten to one, I imagine that my uterus is a big, beautiful flower.

He does bestow upon us certain images in his posts, does that RB. Personally i can't get past the German C&W guitarist with the fumbly fingers and the unstable, inflammable toupee. It popped up in Guitar Technology a few months back if I remember correctly.

But this OP surprised me. I don't think I'm susceptible to hypnosis (I may be wrong) but I know people who are. A hard boiled lawyer friend from the wrong side of the tracks emerged from a hypnotists office in Harley Street seven years ago £100 poorer (which I thought was alarmingly cheap) and hasn't smoked a cigarette since. I know it can work. But is there not some professional body or other that regulates how hypnotists practice and is the idea of selling it wholesale really credible? Just curious.

and there are quite a few hypnotherapists doing the same thing. However, it may be more effective to have one or more one to one sessions and have the therapist record a personal session for you. My wife used to do this sort of thing although she stopped because too many clients came along expecting to be cured of deep seated problems in a single session.

This is a new area for me and I thought why not ask where people may know the answer.

Hi, it is not a case of selling wholesale.

A general relaxation recording can be broadly relevant to many people as can a stop smoking recording,and for some people this is a good first port of call.
Some people find hypnosis one to one in an environment other than their own home uncomfortable,so a recording can be very effective as they feel safe. This is also good for people who think they cannot be hypnotised in my experience.
It does not help when some Hypnotist get people to jump around like a chicken for example as this can create a fear that we have the power to control people beyond their will.
I am just exploring other avenues and possibilities so I can reach out and help people.

As I stated, any product has to meet its customers at POS (point of sale). Hypnosis for childbirth? Motherhood fairs and motherhood mags and motherhood shops, inc. on-line shops. Quit smoking/drinking? Through societies and companies that specialise in this field.

Other people and companies have created POS for your product. You now have to set up your stall in their shadow.
