Can't get my Legacy Keyboard to work with Korg iMS-20

I have the iMS 20 Korg app which is very good BUT when I USB it(via my camera connection
kit) to my Korg Legacy MS-20 mini keyboard controller I get a message that there is not
enough power to run it. I then USB from my keyboard into my desktop PC, another USB cable
from my PC back to my ipad and again nothing happens. The keyboard doesn't control the
app. Can anyone help please ?

via the PC it only will work when you use a kind of midi router program... at least that's
how It works on a mac. However, I'm almost certain that a powered USB hub will solve your
power problem. What I don't know is if the iPad app supports the hardware controller...

Ok, I have a USB hub with 4x inputs. I plug that into my PC for power and my iPad and
Legacy controller into the hub. Still getting no response.

is the USB hub powered by an adapter? You should't connect it to you PC! Just plug the
adapter of the USB hub into a power socket, one of the 4 ports into the controller and the
other port into your iPad. That should work....

Nope, it didn't work. Tried two USB 3 pin adapters (one being the apple 3 pin USB
charger). I couldn't get power to my Legacy controller also. The only way I can get power
to the Legacy is to plug the USB cable directly into the back of the desktop PC USB (it
won't work in the front for some strange reason) I plugged the hub into the rear USB of
the PC and that wouldn't give power to the Legacy. There is nothing wrong with the hubb as
it works with my printer and scanner. I am reluctant to plug the iPad into the
rear USB socket of the desktop for fear of damaging the iPad.

Does your USB hub have it's own power supply unit? You need to use one that has it's own
PSU.

No but I plugged the hub into a 3 pin plug adapter giving mains power as the. Poster above
suggested.

So it has a socket for the PSU power (not USB!) but you didn't have the adapter and you
used a different one?
Maybe a photo will help.

No,the 3 pin plug has a USB slot which enables it to plug straight into the mains. It
isn't a psu as such.

And you connect the 3 pin plug to what on the USB hub?

The 3 pin plug has a slot for the USB cable to go into. If you look at the iPad charger
it's the same kind of thing.

You need a hub with it's own psu. The power cable (from the psu) should plug into the hub
into the small round hole, not one of the USB ports. You plug the iPad into the pc port of
the hub. That is the single squar(ish) USB port. The devices that you want to connect to
the iPad go into one of the slot shaped USB ports on the front.

Yes I got the Belkin 4 USB input. It works but a bit of a cable mess with the PSU. If only
I had known about the Alesis idock it would have solved all my problems.

it work quite well without any problem!!
