URLs not hyperlinking

I've seen a couple of posts where a pasted URL remains static text. I just posted a link
in a thread and it was fine, but when I edited the post and put a second URL in it didn't
work. URL tags enabled it, but it seems there is a small problem.

Yup! This is a known-problem. Well it is to me and I've reported it to mission-control!
 It's when you edit that things fall apart. Must admit that if I want to edit URLs
in a previously-published post now I rip the old ones out and start over. IIRC that'll
work - but happy to be corrected on that.

If you go back and edit a post it screws up the URL. This has been the case for years.
Does for me anyway (Firefox).

I know there is that weird problem where the hyperlink manages to spread itself over all
the text, which is very odd. I just add url tags if it fails.

I just replied to a post earlier, dropped a link in it and it failed to hyperlink it, so
it isn't just on edited posts.

I've noticed an increase in this recently too, it may be a co-incidence but it seemed to
start after the code was tweaked to fix the problem of URLs displaying incorrectly due to
the comma issue that Folderol identified. I'll flag this thread up to the forum
Admin and ask him to have another look. Andy
