Audiobus, a step in the right direction?

I just read the Audiobus article on TUAW and ask myself if this is a step in the right direction... I always saw the iPad as a single task device.

However, if I could record a synth app like iPolysix or Animoog directly into Garageband on the iPad, then a such a performance would end up very gracefully into Logic Pro

But then again, I cannot imagine apple supporting a third party mechanism. Let's hope they will build it into CoreMidi / CoreAudio ...

Just started using it with loopy and now the PPG is hooked up to it. Animoog will soon be also. For me it is a different way of working getting ideas out and the sound quality is excellent.
