2 questions: error messages and system restore new

1) when I go to my system restoe it wont allow me to go back before september.

2) twice in the last few days I have received messages saying windows has recovered from a serious error, with the following info:

(recovered from a serious error)


I also keep getting messages saying IE6 has encountered a problem and needs to shut, the computer may need to be restarted, with error details:

What do they say?

{You can just copy and paste the links into the notepad file open dialog.}

teh.dmp files are a lod of gobbledeegook lettersa nd symbols, and the others wont show anything due to the path(s) not existing

Sorry I've not had the chance to hop aboard with one of your earlier threads.

What anti-virus and anti-trojan systems are you running?
When did you last update the definitions?
When did you last run a full scan?
Are you running a firewall?

This might at least rule a few possibilities out.

Dumps are always gobbledeegook... Do they mention any drivers, programs, paths, files or times that might suggest anything?

{Check the headers and footers tho' the rest of it may have something usable.}

Do they have anything you can relate to your error messages in event viewer?

Aside from IE what other apps are you having problems with?

I use Norton /Antivirus and firewall. fully updated. Scanned a few days a go.

Having problems with my CD burner, crashing, and major trouble starting up: it takes about 10 tries before I hear the beep sound and things start to happen.

Cant see anything drivers etc in the headers and footers
