Anyone know any good tricks for keeping them in the ear for dancers? Currently doing a
live musical theater production with choreography and I am a little worried about them
staying in the ear for the choreography. First time I have used them myself, not used to
having a nice system;)
For some reason the thought of the dancers running around stage with their heads wrapped
in gaff tape like they went through a car wreck doesnt appeal to the directors...
Sorry, I just assumed they were dressed in aluminium costumes and painted with silver
grease paint. No chance renaming the show "Dance of the cybermen"?
If they wear a monitor in each ear, you could drill an ear-to-ear connecting hole through
their head, add small hooks to the earpieces, pass an elastic band through the hole and
connect the two earpieces together with the elastic band. This will produce sufficient
inward pressure to stop the earpieces falling out and prevent the elestic band from being
seen by the audience. If they only wear one earpiece, then one end of the elastic band
could be passed through a matchstick or maybe half a cocktail stick placed laterally
across the other ear. (Remember to take the cherry off the cocktail stick first as it may
be unsightly).
Besides if
anything you know what you need to do is sew the ears shut with the monitor inside.
Better sew the mouth shut too as sound may escape that way...
