what do you do if Logic refuses to playback in the arrange window?

I think this might have been caused by me getting an 'unimplemented message' blurb from Mac, for pressing the the standardly assigned start and stop keys on the mac keyborad, in the sample editor, a while back.

It plays back all Audio Instrument and midi chanels, just not Audio tracks (even though they are correctly assignd to the right channell/output).

I can see the signal in the mixer as i'm recording audio from outside of loic(guitar, mic, stand-a-lone V synth), but i can't seehear a signal when i press playback.

My Mac's fast and mean enough, and everything was initially fine, but how do i get my playback back for audio tracks?!!

please try and help, even if you know nothing about Logic, this is driving me spare!
