E-MU XBoard - anyone seen/tried/own one? new
      #159014 - 24/07/05 01:55 PM
Hi there,

i'm interested in buying one of E-MU's new XBoard range of midi keyboard controller. The prices seem unbelievable bearing in mind they have aftertouch 9ie £99 for 49 keys, midi control knobs, inbuilt USB midi & aftertouch!)

I'm interested in the feel of the keyboard & also how easy it is to program the onboard knobs to control VSTis.

Anyone here used one?

I have one (xboard 25), and although the Mac driver software is not as stable as it should (it crashed once), I had no difficulty at all controlling my Absynth softsynth after just a few minutes of tweaking, and without looking at the manual (perhaps that was the reason the driver software crashed...). The feel of the keyboard is great, and as far as I can tell, the build quality is fine as well.

Cheers,

Vincent

I read one review on Harmony Central, and it was a bad one. It agreed, though, that the keyboard feel was great. I'm hoping they release a 76-key model, because it was really great to have 76 semi-weighted keys (same keys as on Novation's Supernova II and X-Station 25) on their fantastic E-Synth.
