Nice page, excellent name.

Just one thing struck out the page has no title, so it comes up untitled. Just looks better if your pages title come up in your window name or tab

I 'do' music for adverts and tv themes etc. Here's the site, designed by me, put together by Chris at silverfox design. I did the theme to Liquid Assets (BBC Threme), also some stuff for MTV and Nickelodeon. If you're involved with library music, sorry about the merciless slating on one of the pages, (especially now I'm trying to join a music library...)

www.fluid-music.co.uk

Also - I think if we post on here, we should view at least 3 other sites - I've found it really tempting just to post and run...

Actually - it was just me that was tempted. Everyone else is clearly looking at the other sites...

yeah good idea about posting feedback if you put links here for review...

i try an pop in here every now and then and grace the place with my big mouth even if i don't have product to "plug" heh heh....

i think the same thing should go for the Sound Files section too!

most people post once to market their project and then split forever...

here's a site that I produced for my sons band. Low on graphical style as they still looking at an 'image'!

www.operationmonday.co.uk

it's my first go and would be interested in peoples experiences in using it ie do the videos work, are they too big to bother with?
At the moment I only concentrate on it working with IE 6(although it seems to work with Mozilla (cos that is what I use!)) - is this a big problem?

There was also a debate about streaming and download but I don't know how to create a download button - could anyone point me to a tuturial?

all info much appreciated

{a href="filename.ext"} anchor text {/a}

filename.ext is your MP3 file. Not a button, but it works.

Style of this is great (so tempted to pinch the idea!)

One point
- you have repeat on the image which does not seem appropriate for larger screens (not an expert in anyway but do you float it into the centre (or center for html!))

Very nice.

Bemuso, will this give me a 'save to' option?
It seem to be looking for another html page with the .ext on it. (am assuming {=< etc )

sorry ignore this -
I see now, you right click and save target..thanks Bemuso.

Chris, I realise this is now cross-posting (from the 'Looking to trade studio time for web space design') but, just to clarify, my comment about your site "Check here http://www.operationmonday.co.uk/ for an example of what not to do" was only with reference to the spinning image at the top left of the page. Those kind of flashing, spinning things are very irritating users and become very, very wearing after a while.

That was all

I do appreciate the feedback - have changed that bit now (so need to find another example sorry!).
It seems a fine line between mundane and annoying ie you want something to be moving and changing to keep peoples attention but not make it too distracting. (I know animation isn't the answer to everything!)
The fact that more SOS people visited to see the bad example still tickles me. Maybe I should keep it up just so they don't get disappointed

Hi Rob,

I used your link style(and I can see it's standard HTML ) but I seem to have a problem.
In Mozilla all is fine in that I can right click and I get the save target. But in Explorer I don't and when it does load the .wav goes to Quicktime - which needs the Pro version to download.
I've set windows to play .wav with MediaPlayer and this works if I double click a wav in Windows Explorer but still opens with QT in internet - am I missing something else? Do I have to force the windows link in the a href?

thanks, Chris

Hi everyone, I dont have a site to post yet, but I should do soon.
Just a comment, been browsing through the sites on this thread and have been unable to view about half of them because they are in flash and offer no html alternative.
I am using windows X64 and at present there is no 64bit version of flash available.
I have no problem with flash but would always recommend having a html alternative

Dan

keep it simple, a single page, all html, no flash, tunes
in mp3 format, people are after the content after all

- oh, and bribe a html guru mate with a few beers to test it out in all kind of different browsers and stuff if you can !

www.freecompose.com

I just launched this site. Basically it is like free-writing but with music. I will be posting a composition a week, every monday(sunday night most of the time) with a documentation of how it was put together.

I have many ideas to expand the site in the future, if it becomes popular. So keep checking back!!!

enjoy, and feedback is always welcome.

I have set up a website for the promotion of unsigned Trance Tracks.

It seems to be going quite well, especially considering I only set it up last weekend.

If anyone is into trance, then please check it out!
