Logic Pro & Virtual Guitarist Electric

I've just upgraded to Logic Pro and a G5, so have the wonderful job of reinstalling
everything.
Anyone had any issues with Steinberg Virtual Guitarist Elec
Edition?
An Os x installer is on the cd - the installer runs but nothing
appears in logic. It installs a VST plug in.
The steinberg site is useless - so
I've got to look for help elsewhere.
Any ideas?????

Logic doesn't support VST's.
You'll need to get a wrapper for it FxPansion do
one that is very good.
Good luck,

why do they bother to include an os x installer then? no mention of that anywhere on their
site, docmentation etc.
They haven't even released an AU version. Annoys me
that I have to spend $99 to use something I'd already purchased.

Because it's Steinberg.
The VST will work in DP, Cubase or any other non
apple, non digidesign program for OS X. You're just out of luck using them natively within
Logic.

Why do they include an OS X installer?
because OTHER applications in OS X DO
support VST, like their own Cubase SX3 & Nuendo
VST is still valid technology
in OS X, although plug ins need to be written specifically for OS X....
the
FXpansion VST-AU wrapper is very good, and not all that expensive, and opens the door to a
whole heap of other plug ins as well.
