hey, i'm kind of new to this, but i know if anyone can help me it'll be you guys...
i need a new mic for my home recording (m-box with protools), but my budget isn't
huge - can anyone tell me what's the best i can get for about £80? from my own humble
research i'm thinking either the behringer b1, the behringer b2 pro, or the rode nt3.
any advice appreciated, thanks in advance...

Hmm. Taste differs. Haven´t tried any of the ones you suggest. Have tried the Studio
Projects B1 though, and that one continues to get good reviews in a lot of places, and
besides that, I did like it. Anyway, a very personal opinion.

I have an AKG C3000 and a RED5 RV6. The RV6 cost £45 (inc shockmount) and gets used
on everything. C3000 doesn't come out the box!! www.red5.comMM.

I think the Studio Projects C1 is amazing for the price... and is around your price
range... great for vocals... kind of U87-like, but one-tenth the price.

Hey there, what is a good mic in the $200-300 range, or would I really hear a difference
with a $400-$500 Rodes NT type of mic. Would I hear the difference?

I've have to say that I'm very old school, mostly due to ingnorance. I mostly deal with
mics that are AKG, Neumann, EV, Shure, AT. Therefore I know nothing about Rode or
Earthworks or ADK. I only know about the Studio Projects C1 because my brother bought one
new for $200. I was very impressed how mellow and friendly it sounded on vocals. People
will probably think I'm nuts now, but I stand by it. Also, I tried a large condensor
Marshall... I was not happy with it and returned it.
