Use of Virtual Gtr,Virtual Gtr. Elec. Edit & Trilogy with Logic 7.1 new
      #215767 - 24/11/05 03:48 PM
I just upgraded to G5 dual 2.7 OSX with Logic 7.1 and would like to utilize Virtual Guitar, Virtual Guitar Electric Edition and Trilogy in my system. My old system was a G4 dual 800 with Logic 6. I could never get these programs/plug-ins to operate properly so I used them in a PC (Windows 98) in a VST host as seperate Midi controlled instruments. I really want to use them internally as part of my new system and "loose" the PC Windows piece of the puzzle. Can this be done and if so how. I sincerely appreciate any help I can get.

Trilogy is available as an Audio Unit plugin. Download it from the Spectrasonics website using your serial number etc.

Don't know about VG and VGE as I've never used them. But I wouldn't make any promises based on the fact they are VST's and probably wouldn't run very well in the wrapper format that you need to use to get them in Logic.

I'm using VG and VGEE with Logic 7 using the VST/AU wrapper from fxpansion and have been doing so for about a year. They fail validation but work just fine anyway. VGEE is fantastic, you get a whole load of really great guitar effects too.
