Well, firstly try here (we get all our computer stuff from them):

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Products.ASP?CatID=20&Category=Laptops&Thum bnails=yes

and secondly, words of warning? Well, in the UK, keep away from High Steet shops, particularly those offering a 'Pay Nothing for One Year' deals. These are scams built largely on making the cheapest possible laptops and selling them at cost price. The profit comes from the 25% interest rate that they charge after that first year. This turns a £800 laptop into a £1,600 laptop.

The scam works because the laptop is complete rubbish and the finance company is 'independent' of the shop and will refuse to accept payment within the first year, thereby tying you into massive interest payments for two or three years.

This just isn't true. I buy lots of stuff on interest free and have never been stung and that includes my present laptop bought from Staples. All you need to do is to make sure you know, and don't forget, the end date. You should pay the remaining money about a month before and make sure it goes through. If you leave it to the last minute and there's a delay then you might get stung.

www.meshcomputers.com have really powerful laptops - dual core processors etc... and they're based in london.

www.rockdirect.co.uk - simliar specs to mesh, but generally one step ahead. You pay dearly for it though.
