SE Electronics Z3300A - SOS review new
      #23759 - 29/09/04 10:35 AM
I'm confused (not unusual): -

In Paul White's August 04 review of the Z3300A it's referred to as a "valve mic", but describes the innards as Class A FET components on glass fibre circuit boards.

On SE Electronics' website the Z3300A is listed under "condenser mics" rather than "tube mics" and the spec makes no mention of a valve/tube.

Is it just that the manufacturer's website is unclear?

Oops! I think you've spotted this month's deliberate mistake. The Z3300A is definitely NOT a valve microphone. It uses a conventional solid-state impedance converter/preamp and runs on standard phantom power.

Apologies for the confusion. I'll arrange to get the website version of the review updated asap.

Hugh

My bad. Must have got confused with the Z5600A while I was putting the layout together. D'oh! Hopefully we can change this in the web archive.
