I have a cowboy, devil may care attitude to room treatment. Its Duvets, pillows and Rugs
really. And pictures for reflection. Its all a bit haphazard.
I have a couple
of those Argos portable clothes hangers. You know the tubular steel jobs on wheels. From
my living in a car days.
I have these covered in thick Duvets. I tend to move
them around depending on what Im doing. They help a lot being about 6'X 3' or thereabouts.
They are moved behind me and strategically in front and to the side of mics, to create a
two sided soft room when im tracking. I put them either side of me when mixing and so on.
They are handy and easy to move.
Im wondering about filling the cavity with
something and covering them in something else to make them a bit more permanent and
affective. Thinking about rockwool slabs cut to size and fitted in there with some kind of
covering.
Im really looking for something versatile thta can be used for the
same applications as now. But being a bit more permanent and doing a better job of it! I
want to stick with the clothes rails though. These frames on wheels seem ideal.
Any ideas on these screen, trap, ornament type things? Would the kind of sandwich shown
on the DVD003 vocal booth treatment on that large wall panel do anything for me? Perhaps
with different coverings on each side to give some added versatility.
Any
good stuff would be appreciated. No point hitting me with too much science. And Im not
looking for perfection. Just something cheap and diy store thats versatile.
