FireWire Question new

just got my Firestation today! BUT.....one problem...I realized that I have nothing to plug my firewire cable into on my computer (yes i know it is a stupid situation). What would I need to purchase to plug the firwire cable into my computer?

its a 6' (1.8 meter) 6 pin to 4 pin cable if that makes a difference...

What comp is it?? does the mobo have a Firewire connection if not try a search for La Cie Firewire cards using either the Via or Texas Instruments chipset. Should be around 20 quid.

stick with a card with a TI chipset, I found VIA to work but still a bit flakey,if you are using a desktop PC there should be plenty of suitable pci cards around, if you have a laptop, a Belkin F5U513 card has a TI chipset, best of luck, Rob.
