keyboard help needed, please! new

right, i am probably being completely and ridiculously dense, but i'm trying to use this midi keyboard i've borrowed, and i can't get it to play more than one note at a time!

tis an m-audio radium 61, and i've got it hooked up to a mac running garageband.
i'm assuming it must be one of the settings on the keyboard, as the program MidiKeys seems to work fine.

anyone that could give me a run-through of how to get it to play in polyphonic wonderfulness will be the recipient of my eternal heartfelt gratitude!

or maybe the keyboard has seen better days...

did you check it out with a sound module other than your mac?

It isn't something like you're using a monophonic patch? Or does it apply to all sounds.

So you have a mac,
Some checking or information for the other readers.
I think I miss some information.

The manual is talking about two ports witch you can choose, but yoy need to select the second port in the application.

Did you check keystation with an other soundmodule? (stanalone)
Witch connection do you use, the midi out or USB?
With both the same problem?

unfortunately i i haven't got a way of testing the keyboard without connecting it to my computer at the moment, but i'm borrowing it from a friend and he didn't seem to think there was any problem (although conversely, he didn't know how to make it work either).

i'm using the usb connection, straight into my computer.
(i'm using garageband 2 on a G4 mac with OSX 10.4.5 if that helps, but i don't really think that is playing a factor - as i mentioned before, MidiKeys seems to work fine, with complete polyphony. however, its not wholly unusual for me to be wrong!)

i'm reasonably sure that its just a setting on the keyboard which is putting it in monophonic mode, but i can't figure out how to change it, even after much perusal of the manual!
