Zoom MRS-1266 - please help... new
      #375582 - 01/11/06 10:29 PM
Hi,
I am new to this site, but was really hoping someone could give me some advice. I have recently bought a Zoom MRS-1266 and I am having some intermittent issues.

When in the Recorder mode, I prime the correct input, successfully monitor the levels (guitar input), set the correct track to record (red LED). When I press Play->Record it goes into record for approx 1 second then drops out (song continues playing!). If I hold the record button after Play->Pause then it does actually record what is on the input? It basically means I can't record a thing apart from the rhythm?!

I am hoping this is just finger trouble, but was wondering if anyone has ever experienced this?

Thanks in advance for your help...

Daz

Sorry, when I say "hold record after Play->Pause", I mean when I hold Record after pressing Play->Record, but then as soon as I release Record, half a second later recording stops (playing continues!).

Cheers

I don't know zip about this machine, but does it have firmware v1.09 installed?
Check http://www.zoom.co.jp/english/download/software/mrs1266.php

Regards,
Marcel

Hmmmm, the manual says you have to press/hold record FIRST, and THEN press play.

Hi, Yeah it does have the 1.09 software on it, have tried all the factory resets, am gonna try and re-install the software tonight? I have had it working, and it was in this state before hand also, but has now gone back in this "can' record" state.

Press and keep holding down "record" while you press "play". Use two fingers !

If you press play on its own first, the machine will just start playing, and this will override any recording command (unless you punch in).
