Hi I'm having a bit of trouble with a sound card i have installed on my powermac G5
I have an M audio Delta Audiophile 192 installed but its not working as it should
in the M-Audio Delta Control Panel a lot of the features are greyed out most Notibly the
master volume on the monitor mixer window.
Also on the Patch Bay Window
everything is greyed out exept under the S/PDIF Out Column i have 4 options i can select
which are SW Out S/PDIF, S/PDIF In, S/PDIF In Rev & Analog In 1/2
I Have Been
in touch with M Audio Tech Support & they have advised me that i need to install my sound
card into the next available pci slot after my graphics card. My Problem here is i have 4
pci slots 1 is for the graphics card which is an ATI Radeon 9800 XT which has a large fan
on top which covers over pci slot no 2 so my next available slot is slot no 3 this
according to M Audio is my problem i have been advised to change my graphics card so i can
install my sound card into pci slot no 2
I Am after a 2nd opinion on this
before i go off swapping over graphics cards as i have been informed the graphics card i
have is a good one
Also the drivers i have for my Audio Card are version 1.2
these i install from my installation cd i have been advised to update my drivers to the
lates on the M Audio website which are Delta OSX 2.0.5
Whenever i install these
drivers my sound card dissapears & my Macs audio is set to internal i did install them
once where they did work but only for about an hour before the project i was working on in
Pro Tools crashed & i had to restart my Mac before i knew what was happening
any help on these issues would be fantastic thank you
My Mac is a Dual 2.5
ghz PowerPc G5 running on OS X Tiger 10.4.8
