Hi, I'm about to purchase a bass collection sample DVD, but it comes in either a Kontakt
format or EXS24mkII format.
I want to know which I should choose as I have only
just bought Logic Pro 7 and also have Kontakt2 from the Komplete4 collection, I don't have
vast experience in either sampler but I know that Kontakt can read EXS format but
wondering if anyone can give me a reason to purchase a particular one over the other...
I'm on a MacBook Pro with OSX, all lastest versions of software.

I do not have much experience with Kontakt but I do with EXS24 MkII.
I would go
with the sample format native to Logic Pro, which would be the EXS, I would be more
confident as to its reliability because it is coded 'within Logic' (so to speak). It will
also be automatically updated when Logic is updated.
I could be wrong, but I
think the EXS format would/could give you less compatibilty issues.

EXS24 runs far more efficiently in Logic (obviously) than Kontakt, you can take the
sampler banks with you as project data.... if your into lappie production its the way to
go.
