A type Patcbay question new
      #400384 - 03/01/07 08:49 PM
Hi all,
I am thinking of getting a single patch panel.
I was looking at the samson S-Patch Plus .

I assume that since these are passive devices that there is no discernable audio quality differences between different brands, makes models etc. If there are considerations other than durability, I would be glad to hear from you.

Best Regards,
Brian Gardiner.

The most common critism (and probably the only critisim!) is that cheaper patchbays (behringer once again is the big bad wolf) have less durable connections, even then it still takes heavy use before the connections become intermittent, I had a behringer patchbay and had no problem with the short time I had it (only got rid of it because I decided to convert to a balanced system and it was an unbalanced patchbay). That patchbay there should be fine (for that price it better be!) though im sure there will be someone with anouther suggestion!

There was a bit of a discussion about patchbay quality HERE last week.

Might be of some help to you.
