iTunes update

So i installed the latest update, 7.2 i think.

installs fine, open it, it says updating library an a progress bar comes up despite being able to see my library behind it. it gets about 3/4s of the way through an just freezes totally cant even click the application.

Im on xp. im sure on previous updates it has updated the library an had no detrimental effect, ive tried uninstalling reinstalling restarting same everytime. Is there any way to roll back the version? sorry if this is in the wrong forum i couldnt see any better alternative.

My first port of call would be to check for dodgy files in your iTunes directory - files with odd encodings, ogg, flac, etc etc and move 'em out. See if that helps.

You aren't running Internet Explorer 7 are you? There's an incompatibility between that and iTunes that I know of. Solution to that is to uninstall IE7 and let it roll back to 6. And then use Mozilla ....
